Marie De Narde was born on August 16, 1905. She was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and is an American-French and of Italian roots. Her parents are called Gennaro Cepparulo and Elsie DeNarde Cepparulo and her brothers are Silvius Andrew and Alfred Florian.

Marie’s father Gennaro Cepparulo was the manufacturer of artificial flowers for ceremonies, floral arrangements, and other purposes. Gennaro Cepparulo moved to the United States to expand his business.

Marie finished her high school education and relocated to France to learn fashion design and art. In the summer of 1927, Marie completed her studies in France and returned to New York.
