Adoption of Technology Encouraged by Naddc

Encouraging the Auto Sector Skills Council to integrate advanced technology in establishing operational standards for auto mechatronics training in the nation, Joseph Osanipin, the Director General of the National Automotive Design and Development Council, imparted this advice.

This directive was given during the recent Sector Skills Council Awareness/Sensitisation Workshop for the Northern Zone, which was jointly organized by NADDC and SSC in Abuja.

Emphasizing the significance of adapting to current technological advancements in the automotive sector, Osanipin stressed the importance of upgrading skills by making use of the training curriculum and facilities provided by the council.

Highlighting the transformative changes in the auto industry over the last few decades, he underlined the crucial role of training.

“The way the auto industry worked 30, 40 years ago is no longer the way it works today; and the key element is training,” said the DG. “The council realized this and partnered with SSC to identify gaps, with a particular focus on addressing challenges in electrical and electronics.”

Expressing satisfaction with the workshop, Francis Udeh, the President of the Automotive Sector Skill Council, emphasized its significance in increasing awareness among members regarding the current administration’s commitment to revolutionize the automotive sector.
