Alberto Fujimori is a Peruvian politician, professor, and engineer. He was President of Peru, from 28 July, 1990 to 22 November, 2000.
His parents, Naoichi (Minami) Fujimori and Mutsue (Inomoto) Fujimori, were Japanese emigrants, from Kumamoto. His father was adopted by Kintaro Fujimori. Around 2000, Alberto also acquired Japanese citizenship, having left Peru for Japan to avoid prosecution for his criminal activities. His brother is lawyer, politician, and congressman Santiago Fujimori. Alberto is married to Satomi Kataoka. He has four children, including politicians Keiko Fujimori and Kenji Fujimori, with his former wife, politician and engineer Susana Higuchi.
