Ameer Abdullah is an American football running back for the Detroit Lions of the National Football League (NFL). He looks back on a successful career and is still very active. Born June 13, 1993, in Homewood, Alabama, the son of Kareem and Aisha. He is the youngest of nine children born into a Muslim family. Throughout his childhood, Ameer Abdullah found himself in situations where he had to go his own way. His brothers and sisters were his role models, and they motivated him through their striving for success.

He attended Homewood High School, where he was named Player of the Year for the Southern Region in 2010. Ameer was a good footballer at Homewood High School, in 2010 he won the Mississipi-Alabama All-Star Classic. Abdullah was also interested in athletics events, and as an athletics star at Homewood, he competed in the 100-meter race and was also good in the long jump and also took part in it. Abdullah’s skills gave him a long list of offers from major schools like Alabama, Auburn, and many others, but he turned them down because they wanted him to be a cornerback and not a running back, which he wanted.

But all those problems came to an end when Bo Pelini, the Nebraska coach at the time, saw the talent in him and told him that he would put him in a position where he could maximize his potential and talent, so he finally decided to play for Nebraska instead. Not only did he play soccer in college, since he majored in history, but he also played his college soccer in Nebraska. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in history. In the 2011 season, Abdullah was one of the real rookies playing for Nebraska and he finished the season with a total of 3 rapid touchdowns, 150 rapid yards, one touchdown, 26 kick returns for 763 net yards, and 15 point returns for 107 net yards.

In his graduating year 2014, Abdullah was honored with the Senior Class Award for the most outstanding senior soccer player in Division 1, which is awarded based on classroom performance, community contributions, personal character, and athletic achievement. He would then be selected by the Detroit Lions as the 54th candidate to serve as a running back in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft. His contract as a rookie was a 4-year contract worth $4.15 million, plus $1.28 million as a signing bonus.

Family – Siblings 

Ameer Abdullah is the youngest of his parents’ nine children – Aisha and Kareem Abdullah – which means he has eight older siblings, all of whom are successful in their different careers. Halimah Abdullah is the oldest child in the family and has studied at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. The family’s first son, Muhammad, is a lawyer who graduated from the University of Alabama. Ruqayyah McPherson also graduated from the University of Alabama in Birmingham (UAB).

Aisha Carmichael attended Talladega College, while Khadija attended Tuskegee University. Kareemah went to Clark Atlanta University, Madinah attended Alabama A&M University and later Samford University in Homewood, while his immediate older brother Kareem graduated from Auburn University. As he grew up, he looked up to eight of them, and they were his guides.
