Early Life
Anna Paquin was born on 24 July 1982. She was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Paquin was born as the youngest child of Mary Paquin and Brain Paquin. Her father, Brain Paquin, was a high school Physical Education teacher from Canada, while her mother, Mary Paquin, was an English teacher and was from Wellington, New Zealand. Anna’s older brother Andrew Paquin is a director, and her older sister Katya Paquin is currently with Russel Norman, the co-leader of the Green Party of New Zealand.
Even though Anna was born in Canada, they moved to New Zealand when Anna was only 4 years old. In New Zealand, Anna studied at Raphael House Rudolf Steiner School until she was 9 years old and then transferred to Hutt Intermediate School from 1994 to 1995. But she moved to the United States with her mother after her parents divorced in 1995. In the US, Anna Paquin completed her high school at Windward School, located in Los Angeles. After completing her high school, she attended Columbia University but soon dropped out after one year to focus on her acting career.
