Are Diamagnetic Materials Magnetic?

1.3.
The diamagnetic materials do not have magnetic moment in absence of applied field. When magnetic field is applied, electron spinning produces a magnetization (M) in a direction opposite to applied field. Materials showing diamagnetic effect are a very small number.

Is diamagnetic magnetic?

Diamagnetic atoms are not attracted to a magnetic field, but rather are slightly repelled.

Why are diamagnetic materials non magnetic?

In diamagnetic materials, there are no atomic dipoles due to the pairing between the electrons. When an external magnetic field is applied, dipoles are induced in the diamagnetic materials in such a way that induced dipoles opposes the external magnetic field according to Lenz's law.
