Are Elephants Gray

Are elephants brown or grey?

Elephants typically have grey skin, but African elephants look brown or reddish after wallowing in coloured mud.

Are most elephants grey?

There is a pigment in an elephant’s skin that makes it greyish in colour. If there is less pigment in the skin, the skin becomes much paler. It becomes so light that the red colour of their blood can be seen through their skin, making them look pink!
