Are Pantoloc and Tecta the Same?

The makers of Pantoloc® (pantoprazole sodium) have developed a brand new formulation of this medication, called Tecta® (pantoprazole magnesium).

Is Tecta a pantoprazole?

Tecta (pantoprazole) is prescribed to treat gastrointestinal ulcers, or for gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), which includes heartburn and acid reflux, and reflux esophagitis. Tecta is part of a family of drugs called Proton Pump Inhibitors (PPIs).

Is pantoloc and pantoprazole the same thing?

If you've bought pantoprazole without a prescription and your symptoms don't improve after 2 weeks, see a doctor before taking any more. Pantoprazole isn't usually recommended during pregnancy. Pantoprazole is also called by the brand name Pantoloc Control.
