What color are redwood trees?
Color/Appearance: Heartwood color can range from a light pinkish brown to a deep reddish brown. Sapwood is a pale white/yellow. Curly figure or Redwood burl (sometimes referred to as “lace” or by the name Vavona) are occasionally seen.
Is Redwood a pink?
You might, though, prefer the look of top-grade vertical grain for cabinets and furniture. Keep in mind that redwood heartwood looks salmon pink when first cut, but after exposure to air and sunlight it changes to dark red. Its sapwood remains white.
