Are Watchman Device Mri Compatible?

MRI safety testing has shown that the WATCHMAN Left Atrial Appendage Closure Device is “MRI Conditional” and that a patient with a WATCHMAN Implant may safely undergo an MRI scan under certain conditions listed on the WATCHMAN Device Implant Card.

What is the Watchman device made of?

The Watchman Device is made out of a metallic frame that is then covered with a thin layer of fabric. It is extremely lightweight. The frame is made out of a nitinol alloy that is very common with cardiac implants. The fabric is made from Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) and is attached by tiny sutures.

Has anyone died from the Watchman procedure?
