Ashley was born to a Canadian mother and an American father in Newport, Rhode Island. After her birth, when she was three, her parents moved to Cambridge, Ontario. She went to St. Benedicts C.S.S. in Cambridge, Ontario, for high school.
Ashley Newbrough started her career when she was just ten years old, starring in a series of advertisements worldwide. She got her first supporting role as Alice in Wonderland on the Fox Family Channel series The Zack Files, alongside Robert Clark, Michael Seater, and Jake Epstein.
