In Coddington’s personal life, he married Peggy Jeanne King in 1965 and they had one child. He was also married to Diane Marie Ragone Elkins from 1971 to 1996, and they had three children. From 2002 until his death, he was married to Jo Andenise Clausen McGee. Boyd passed away on the 28th February 2008 in Whittier, California, as a result of complications derived from a recent operation.
