NO. Absolutely not. The IT administrator (or people with similar privileges) can also see files on your desktop as easily as they can see your OneDrive files. Don't even think of storing files on local desktop thinking that they are safer!

Can administrators access OneDrive?

You can give yourself access to the content in a user's OneDrive, but you may want to remove your access when you no longer need it. Sign in to the admin center as a global admin or SharePoint admin.

Can my employer see my OneDrive files?

Unless you share the files to others, otherwise others can't access to your personal site include the IT admin. As an admin, however, they still can access to your OneDrive personal site through the OneDrive settings, but we suggest admin do this only when the users are resigned.
