It has advised that adults and children older than 12 years can continue taking echinacea because the risks of any side effects are reduced due to older children and adults weighing more and in general having fewer colds.

What age can children take echinacea?

Ask a doctor before using echinacea if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not give any herbal/health supplement to a child without medical advice. Echinacea should not be used in a child younger than 12 years old.
