Can I Eat Ribena

Ribena comes both in a ready-to-drink form and a squash for you to dilute at home. Check the pack before drinking and dilute with water if it says so. Drinking undiluted squash probably won’t do you any long-term harm, but it’s packed with sugar, and might give you an upset tummy.

Is Ribena safe to drink?

WORST SQUASH Healthy? No. Drinking this 500ml bottle of Ribena gives you 60 per cent of your daily amount of sugar in one hit. As sugary as a can of Coke, and with almost 100 more calories to boot, you’d do yourself a favour by choosing a less sugary option.

Why did Ribena get banned?

It seems like supermarket giant Tesco is cottoning on to the fact that the sweet stuff isn’t great for your health. The retailer has launched an admirable clampdown on high-sugar products which will be removed from British shelves to help fight childhood obesity.
