Can Ondansetron Be Crushed?

Ondansetron tablets are available in two different forms – tablets or oral disintegrating tablets (also called ODT). Tablets: swallow the tablets with a glass of water. Do not halve or crush the tablets.

You may mix the liquid with a small amount of water or milk. If your child is taking the ondansetron disintegrating tablet (ODT), place the tablet on top of your child's tongue. It will melt in a few seconds and then your child should swallow.

Can you dissolve ondansetron?

These tablets are made to dissolve in the mouth. Do not try to push the tablet through the foil backing. With dry hands, peel away the foil backing and gently remove the tablet. Place the tablet in the mouth and allow it to dissolve, then swallow.
