Can titanium valves be refaced?
I would not advise doing it . Most ti valves have a treatment or coating that will be ruined if you grind them . We don't even lap in with new valves where I work. We use a stainless or a new ti valve that will never go in a motor for lapping.
Do brand new valves need lapped?
New seats, with new valves should require no lapping to get a good seal - my machinist refuses to lap in the first place, considering it to be a half-baked solution.
