Can You Apply Preparation H with Your Finger?

Apply the hemorrhoid cream around the outside of your anus with your finger. Use hemorrhoid cream 2 to 3 times during the day, including before bed and first thing in the morning.

How do you apply Preparation H?

Lubricate applicator well and then gently insert applicator into the rectum ½ inch. Squeeze the tube so that ointment is applied inside rectum. Thoroughly cleanse applicator after each use and replace protective cover. Avoid having a bowel movement for one to three hours after inserting the ointment.

Can you touch Preparation H?

Use this product in the rectum as directed by your doctor, usually 2 or 3 times daily. The dosage and length of treatment are based on your medical condition and response to treatment. Avoid handling the suppository for too long because it will melt.
