Can You Die from Boredom?

It's very unlikely that you could die from having one boring day. But while being bored once in a while won't kill you, research has indicated that long-term boredom may increase your risk for a premature death.

Can you go insane from boredom?

Too much idle time can make us go a little crazy — that's true for anyone but especially for people with mental illness. If you're in a situation where you feel like you aren't making any progress, it might be a good idea to take small steps toward your goal. This can provide you with a base to build something bigger.

What happens if you get too bored?

But boredom has a darker side: Easily bored people are at higher risk for depression, anxiety, drug addiction, alcoholism, compulsive gambling, eating disorders, hostility, anger, poor social skills, bad grades and low work performance.
