You can evolve either your Active or Benched Pokémon.

Adam Wiemers. If an attack explicitly states that benched Pokémon take damage, then yes. When this occurs though, keep in mind that you do not apply weakness or resistance to benched Pokémon.

Can you put energy on Benched Pokémon?

Take an Energy card from your hand and put it under your Active Pokémon or one of your Benched Pokémon to indicate that this is Energy it can use. You can attach Energy just once each turn!
