Can I use a spade bit to countersink?

First the pilot hole, then the countersink. This however, does not work with spade bits due to the way the drill bit is engineered. A countersunk hole is where a secondary larger hole is cut on top of the first hole so that the head of the nut or bolt can sit inside of the material and not be exposed.

How do you screw a nut?

Take a nut that fits the bolt and place it at the opposite side of the bolt, away from the head. Then grab the head of the bolt so that it doesn’t move around and hold it still while you spin the nut clockwise, gently pressing down on it.
