Can You Solder Pewter

Pewter can be welded or soldered; I always weld the initial joint of a cylinder. A welded joint is stronger than a soldered seam and will be the same color as the pewter since we use scrap pewter cutoffs to make our welding rod.

Will solder stick to pewter?

With a melt temperature of just 395*F, this Solder works with the heat of a match or lighter. Works on Pewter and Aluminum.

What do you solder pewter with?

Since pewter has such a low melting point, I do most of my soldering and welding with a propane or butane torch.
