Just like regular concrete, self-leveling overlays can be integrally colored, stained, stenciled, saw-cut, sandblasted or polished. In rare instances, contractors have used dry-shake color and other hardeners with some success. You can use inlays before pouring and you can add glass or aggregate to some mixes.
Can you color self-leveling compound?
The self leveling concrete can be integrally colored, then topically dyed to create any color you desire from basic grays to vibrant, reds, yellows, blues and greens. You can create any color pattern you can imagine, then cut any pattern into the floor to create the look of custom tile.
Can you seal self-leveling underlayment?
Once dry, a self-leveling overlay can be covered with a traditional flooring material, like carpet, tile, hardwood or laminate; or it can be sealed, and left exposed, to use as a wear surface, because its cement composition gives it a hardness and durability meeting or exceeding that of normal concrete.
