Can You Two Tone Powder Coat?

Unlike most liquid paints, mixing two colors don't result in an intermediate color but a blend of individual particles. For example, mixing a red paint and a yellow one of same technology will yield an orange paint. With powder coatings you get a unique speckled finish. So yes, powder coatings can be mixed.

How do you powder coat two colors?

Procedure #1
  1. Clean part thoroughly.
  2. Shoot part with first color.
  3. Partially cure* first color in oven (do not full cure, especially white powder)
  4. Let part cool completely.
  5. Mask areas that are to remain first color.
  6. Shoot part with second color, covering over unmasked first color areas.
  7. Fully cure both powders in oven.
