Catherine O’Hara is a Canadian actress, writer, and comedian who rose to prominence as one of the founding cast members of the Canadian sketch comedy show SCTV (1976). On the show, she played Lucille Ball, Tammy Faye Bakker, Gilda Radner, Katharine Hepburn, and Brooke Shields, among others. O’Hara stuck with the show from start to finish (1976-1984). She went on to star in other Tim Burton films, including Beetlejuice (1988), The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993), and, most recently, Frankenweenie (2012). O’Hara also worked often with director and writer Christopher Guest, appearing in three of his mockumentary films that earned her accolades and nominations: Waiting for Guffman (1996), Best in Show (2000), A Mighty Wind (2003), and For Your Consideration (2006). O’Hara has recently been on the Canadian comedy series Schitt’s Creek (2015). She won two Canadian Screen Awards for Best Lead Actress for her work in the series (2016 and 2017).
