Chad Everett

Chad Everett was an American actor who appeared in dozens of films and television shows in both main and supporting roles. From 1969 until 1976, he played Dr. Joe Gannon in the television drama Medical Center. Rome Adventure, The Chapman Report, Star Command, and Manhattan, AZ are among his other acting credits. Everett died in 2012 at the age of 75.

On June 11, 1937, Chad Everett was born in South Bend, Indiana to parents Harry Clyde “Ted” Cramton and Virdeen Ruth Hopper. Harry, his father, was a racecar driver, mechanic, and auto parts salesman. Everett was born Raymon Lee Cramton, but his agent Henry Wilson changed his name afterwards.

He was born and raised in Dearborn, Michigan, where he graduated from Fordson High School. Everett was a quarterback for the football team during his high school years. He began performing at the age of fourteen. He went on to Wayne State University in Detroit, where he became a member of a State Department-sponsored performing ensemble. With the troupe, he also toured India. Everett earned a bachelor’s degree in theater from the university.
