China Deploys 103 Warplanes to Intimidate Taiwan in 24 Hours

In the past 24 hours, Taiwan’s defense ministry detected 103 Chinese military aircraft in its airspace, marking a new record for daily sorties.

Of the 103 aircraft, 40 crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait, entering the southwestern and southeastern airspace, while nine People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Navy ships were also observed near Taiwan.

In response, Taiwan deployed land-based missile systems, navy ships, and combat air patrol aircraft to counter these activities.

The defense ministry emphasized the serious threats posed by the presence of Chinese aircraft to regional security and urged all parties to uphold peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait. It called on Beijing to take responsibility and cease such provocative actions.

Last week, Taiwan reported similar activities involving Chinese military ships and numerous aircraft near its shores, as China considers Taiwan a part of its territory despite its self-governing democracy.
