Console Edition Update 1.30 Patch Notes Today (February 24)

A brand new update for Rust: Console Edition is set to be deployed today (February 24), bringing the game to version 1.30 with the highly anticipated ‘Offshore Blowout’ content.

Rust: Console Edition ‘Offshore Blowout’ Update

Offshore Blowout has been one of the most requested Rust: Console Edition updates ever, and there’s a good reason why. Today’s new update includes the following pieces of content:

• Two of the most requested monuments are being added to the game. Depending on the server you play in, you will have the chance to have the Small or Large Oil Rig available in it. Some servers might even have both! 
• A new NPC, the Heavy Scientist, is being added. This new NPC is much more challenging than the regular scientists and you and your squad will have to face them, if you plan to complete the Oil Rig event and run away with the loot. 
• A new weapon is also being added, the Multiple Grenade Launcher! This weapon has a low chance of dropping from the Heavy Scientists aboard the Oil Rig, and in the right hands it will cause immense destruction. Don’t forget to aim ABOVE your target.
• And finally, all backpacks now float in the ocean. This means that in those intense fights in the open sea, you will be able to loot your opponents and get some extra resources that can be crucial on your journey. 

The developers state that today’s patch will also include a new skin rotation, and plenty of fixes to improve the overall gameplay experience. Take a look over the official February 24 patch notes further down this article.

Rust: Console Edition Update 1.30 Patch Notes (February 24)

Below you will find the official patch notes for the February 24 Rust: Console Edition update, which brings the game to version 1.30 with the Offshore Blowout content.

New Content (Will not be live in-game until 6PM UTC)

• Small Oil Rig
  • This offshore monument brings new opportunities for puzzles, loot, and combat. Bring a team to conquer this one.
• Large Oil Rig
  • Very similar to the Small Oil Rig, but much bigger with more puzzles, more loot, and protected by a greater number of scientists.
• CH47 Event
  • This event can be triggered by hacking the locked crate found on the top level of Oil Rigs, and it will introduce you to a new enemy, the Heavy Scientist.
• Heavy Scientists
  • A new and much more challenging NPC.
• Multiple Grenade Launcher
  • This powerful weapon can be looted from the Heavy Scientists, and uses 40mm Smoke Grenades, 40mm HE Grenades, or 40mm Shotgun Rounds.
• Buoyant Backpacks
  • Loot from players and NPCs killed in water will float on the water’s surface instead of sinking to the bottom of the sea.
• New items added to Skin Store
  • We will have some new skin packs to celebrate the release of OFFSHORE BLOWOUT.

Changes: 

• Increased building blocked zone around the Harbour monument
• Updated localization files

Fixes: 

• Fixed texture issues on Roadsign Gloves
• Fixed a bug that could cause players to be kicked when dropping Roadsign Gloves
• Fixed some skinned items losing their skin when dropped from inventory
• Fixed missing shadows on road signs
• Fixed missing collision on a fridge door at the Lighthouse monument
• Fixed an area where players could get stuck between ice sheets
• Fixed some skin icons and previews not appearing correctly
• Fixed barrels clipping through sewer walls in the Airfield monument
• Fixed binoculars making your eyes go square for a moment
