Could Hopper Still Be Alive?

Hopper is alive, and "Stranger Things" fans are apparently going to learn something massive about the character. Netflix has already confirmed David Harbour's Hopper will be alive when “Stranger Things” returns for a fourth season, but that won't be the only shock when it comes to the fan favorite character.

How did Hopper not die?

The most obvious answer to the question of how Hopper survived is that he jumped through the gate before the explosion, and the Russians found him in the Upside Down. It would make sense that since they were tracking him, reports would have been sent back to their headquarters.
