Deborra-Lee Furness Biography

Deborra-Lee Furness is an Australian actress and producer who rose to fame as the wife of famous actor and X-Men star Hugh Jackman. She is also known for her roles in TV series and films like No Man’s Land (1974), Division 4 (1975), Evil Angels (1988), Celia (1988) and Waiting (1991). Deborra even spent time working as a news director for Channel 9 News before making her debut as an actress.

Furness was born in Annandel a suburbia neighborhood situated in New South Wales but she was raised in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. She attended and finished her middle school situated in a hometown. From there, Deborra attended a secretarial school to learn shorthand and typing at the age of eighteen.

She then landed her first job at the age of nineteen by working as a news director for Channel 6. Deborra spent almost two to three years before she began working as a co-host on a daytime program called No Man’s Land alongside Mckie de Stoop. However, Deborra quit her career as a host and joined the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City to study acting. She graduated in 1982.
