Facebook Pages and Groups are tools entities use to grow relationships with their target audience. Pages are mainly used by businesses, companies, celebrities, and other public figures as a way to connect with their followers, while Groups provide a more intimate area for private communication amongst members. While both serve different purposes, it can sometimes be confusing to know which one to use. This article will provide an in-depth look into the differences between Facebook Pages and Groups.
1. Audience Size
Facebook Pages are visible to anyone on the social network. It features a ‘Like’ button that allows you to connect with the page and make it a part of your ‘Liked Pages’ list. So, by creating a Facebook Page you will have a much larger reach and audience than a Group.
Groups are limited to a specified number of members or followers and are usually focused on a specific subject such as families, friends, or work-related topics. It’s a great choice if you are looking to connect with a smaller, more intimate circle of people.
2. Management
Facebook Pages require a separate account to create and manage. As the administrator of the Page, you have access to specific tools to help you grow your presence. You can also invite other managers and editors to help maintain the Page. Facebook Pages require approval from a real person to ensure that all content meets the standards set by Facebook.
Groups are much simpler to manage and are created using a personal Facebook account. You can also add other members as administrators and editors to help manage the Group and ensure that all content remains within the specified guidelines. However, these Groups do not require approval from a human, making the process much quicker than a Page.
