Do I Feed Roses After Pruning

As with most plants, roses enjoy a good feeding in the spring after they’ve begun actively growing. You can give them their first fertilization at pruning time. There are several quality rose foods on the market that you can use, but a general all-purpose fertilizer will also suffice.

Do you Fertilise roses after pruning?

Fertilise about three weeks after you’ve pruned. Remove the clippings and prunings from the garden. Clear them up. Don’t put them into the compost, but into the rubbish bin.

Should you fertilize after pruning?

After pruning, you may apply a fertilizer to encourage vigorous new growth. I must admit this takes a strong will. Your plants will likely be blooming when you cut them back and will certainly not look their best immediately after the procedure.
