Do Lymph Have Valves?

The lymphatic system contains intraluminal leaflet valves that function to bias lymph flow back towards the heart. These valves are present in the collecting lymphatic vessels, which generally have lymphatic muscle cells and can spontaneously pump fluid.

Does the lymphatic system have one way valves?

They lead to the collecting lymphatics, which are subdivided into short segments called lymphangions by regularly spaced one-way valves, and have muscular walls capable of mounting more or less periodic contractions.

Does lymph have a pump?

This fluid is called lymph. There is no heart-like pump for the lymphatic system. Instead, as you breathe and move your muscles, the lymph continuously gets pushed toward the heart from the outer reaches of your body. (It's very much like how blood depleted of oxygen moves back toward your heart through the veins.)
