Do Marine Subwoofers Need a Box

Most marine subwoofers are designed for infinite baffle applications. If you have an infinite baffle subwoofer, it does not need to be in a box. Do you need a box for a subwoofer on a boat?

Bass tubes come preloaded with subs and are either powered (do not require an external amp) or unpowered (require an external marine amplifier). Enclosed subwoofers are popular for boats because they save space and you do not have to build a custom box.

Do marine speakers need an enclosure?
