Do Mouse Trap Buckets Work

The bucket mouse trap catches many mice in a single trap and does not need to be reset between mice. It’s also so simple to make that you probably already have all the parts needed lying around your garage. Never purchase commercial mouse traps or poison again!

What do you need for a bucket mouse trap?

To make this trap you need a four gallon plastic bucket, a soda can, and a round pin (a dowel) made of wood or metal. You will also need a piece of wood (scrap or a small branch) and some peanut butter.

Can mice climb out of buckets?

The answer may surprise you: mice can jump as high as 12 inches, meaning they may be able to jump clear out of the bucket (and some have reported this happening.) And they’ve also been known to climb around 12 inches, even up smooth, vertical walls like those on the side of a bucket.
