Do Pallets Get Reused

According to U.S. Forest Service figures, around 68.5% of recovered pallets are repaired for reuse, with another 11.9% reusable without repair. Another 16.2% are dismantled to be used as replacement lumber or in the construction of new pallets using recycled lumber, or a combination of new and recycled lumber.

How many times can a pallet be reused?

Once they serve their primary purpose, wooden pallets can be recycled into other valuable products. With proper maintenance, a typical wooden pallet is reusable up to nine times.

Why are pallets not reused?

If they aren’t recycled, pallets end up in landfill with damaging effects on the local environment and more. By recycling pallets, not only are they diverted from landfill, but they have value through the creation of new products.
