Do Toilets Make Noise

Toilets make a lot of noise when they flush, but they should be quiet the rest of the time. If your toilet makes noise when it’s supposed to be quiet, this could be a sign of a leak or another plumbing problem.

Why does the toilet make noises?

Gurgling or Bubbling: Gurgling or bubbling coming from your toilet usually indicates that there is negative air pressure built up somewhere in the drain line, usually from a clog. When that pressure releases, it will cause the gurgling or bubbling sound you hear in your toilet bowl.

What makes a toilet whistle?

If the gasket or the parts of your toilet’s fill valve are old and worn, they may vibrate. The vibration transfers to the armature and ball, thus causing the high-pitched sound – or in other words, a whistling toilet. The vibration stops only when the aperture closes completely.
