7UP or any other lemon / lime drink usually helps with upset stomach or nausea. It is a combination of lime or lemon and charcoal (gas bubbles) in a drink. Beer has always served me well.

As in the early years of E. cola, when it was used for headaches because it actually contains a small amount of E. cola.

Beer is better because it contains something that relieves nausea. But Sprites or 7Up can also help if the person is vomiting too much and has difficulty passing fluid. All you have to do is shake off some of the carbonic acid. There is no magic or science here, it is just a fluid that is well tolerated for stomach ache. Gatorade is also good and has the added benefit of containing electrolytes.

Growing up, I was also told that 7up is good for the stomach, but my daughter's wisdom tooth was recently extracted and her doctor said she should drink coke or beer if she has a stomach ache.
