Does a Resignation Have to Be Accepted?

It is a common misconception that an employee's notice of resignation is not valid unless it has been "accepted" by the employer. The position at common law is that a notice, once validly given, is effective and can neither be "refused" by the employer or "withdrawn" by the employee, without the other's agreement.

What if my resignation is not accepted?

If the employer did not accept the resignation then he can terminate. Is it compulsory to one month of notice period in private limited company ? ... Does a resignation letter need to be approved?

The resignation decision is the employee's decision alone. An employer can not refuse to accept it. This is no different to dismissal being the employer's decision, the employee can not refuse to accept that they have been dismissed in accordance with the contract.
