How much light does a Caulerpa need?
Red and brown macroalgae will not tolerate intense lighting for such long photo periods and I recommend a standard photo period of around 8-12 hours, very much like a freshwater planted tank. If over exposed to light for too long, or it's too bright, red macroalgae can bleach, losing colour and whiting out.
Do I need light for Chaeto?
Chaeto needs plenty of light to thrive. It might be dying off on one side only. This might be because of the lack of water movement that would rotate it. If that's the case, try flipping the chaeto over so that all of its parts get enough light.
