Does Charcoal Deodorizer Work?

Just like a charcoal water filter, charcoal briquettes can be used to absorb moisture and odor from the air in your home. A while back, Gregory tipped us off on using charcoal to remove fridge odors, but they definitely work in other rooms, too.

Is charcoal an effective deodorizer?

The infusion of oxygen makes the charcoal more porous so that it has more surface area with which to absorb bad odors. Activated charcoal neutralizes odors, including pet odor, mold and human waste, and it's much safer than chemical odor neutralizers.

Do charcoal fresheners work?

While it doesn't give off a distinct scent, it does remove the odor in a room or space. That in itself is your most obvious proof that it's working well. If your room used to smell like stinky feet and it suddenly smells like fresh air, then the bamboo charcoal is working.
