Does Chloracne Go Away?

Chloracne usually clears up within two years. Severe chloracne can lead to open sores and permanent scars. Causes: Chloracne is caused by certain types of toxic chemicals, including dioxin, a contaminant found in Agent Orange.

Is there a cure for chloracne?

Treatment. Once chloracne has been identified, the primary action is to remove the patient and all other individuals from the source of contamination. Further treatment is symptomatic. Secondary infections on severe or persistent lesions may need to be treated with oral antibiotics or isotretinoin.

How long does Agent Orange stay active?

Agent Orange has a short half-life of days and weeks after application to vegetation, and has not been found to persist, after 50 years, in the water or soils of southern Vietnam.
