Does Eyes Go Away?

For many people, eye floaters do not necessarily go away over time, but they do become less noticeable. They slowly sink within your vitreous and eventually settle at the bottom of your eye. Once this happens, you won't notice them and will think they have gone away.

How long does it take for eye floater to go away?

The vitreous gel usually then melts or liquefies over the next several weeks to months. The floaters often subside starting within a few days, and all but a few settle to the bottom of the eye and disappear within a 6-month period. Some residual floaters can be seen for life.

Are eye floaters normal at 18?

Floaters come with age, but young people can experience them as well. Causes other than age include eye trauma, cataract surgery, nearsightedness and diabetic retinopathy. There is no magic eye drop or therapy to get rid of floaters, but over time, they usually become less bothersome.
