This discomfort lasts about 10 seconds and fades away as the toe numbs.
Do toe numbing shots hurt?
In order to perform the toenail surgery as painlessly as possible, local anesthetic will be injected into the toe. Many patients are concerned about pain from the injection, but don't worry. We use a topical numbing agent to make the injection nearly painless.
What does a toe injection feel like?
This numbing injection does sting and burn, usually no longer than 20 seconds. The toe will feel like it is filling with a hot fluid. Once the injection is complete, this sensation ends and the numbing begins.
