Blurry Vision
When you have very elevated blood pressure, especially chronically, then these vessels can be damaged or compromised and you can get something called hypertensive retinopathy. These tiny blood vessels in the backs of your eyes can even bleed and this can lead to blurry vision.
Can high blood pressure cause weird vision?
Persistent, untreated high blood pressure can cause damage to the retina, the tissues at the back of the eye responsible for receiving the images we need to see. The condition can lead to symptoms including double or dim vision, loss of vision and headaches.
What causes sudden high blood pressure and blurred vision?
Damage to the blood vessels in the light-sensitive tissue at the back of the eye (retina) can lead to bleeding in the eye, blurred vision and complete loss of vision. Having diabetes in addition to high blood pressure increase the risk of retinopathy. Fluid buildup under the retina (choroidopathy).
