Does Isovue 300 Contain Iodine

Isovue-300 is a radiopaque (RAY dee oh payk) contrast agent. This medicine contains iodine, a substance that absorbs x-rays. Radiopaque contrast agents are used to allow blood vessels, organs, and other non-bony tissues to be seen more clearly on a CT scan or other radiologic (x-ray) examination.

Isovue Description Each mL of Isovue-300 (Iopamidol Injection 61%) provides 612 mg iopamidol with 1 mg tromethamine and 0.39 mg edetate calcium disodium. The solution contains approximately 0.043 mg (0.002 mEq) sodium and 300 mg organically bound iodine per mL.

What is isovue dye?

ISOVUE® is used for making blood vessels and other parts of the body visible to X-rays. Injection of ISOVUE® into the blood vessels dyes the blood vessels through which the blood flows. This allows the blood vessels in that area to be seen on an X-ray.
