Does Kevan Lannister Die?

Kevan attends Cersei and Loras's trial in the Great Sept of Baelor, standing with Mace Tyrell, but he does not participate. He is killed along with his son Lancel, the High Sparrow, Mace Tyrell, Margaery Tyrell, Loras Tyrell and many King's Landing citizens when the Sept is incinerated with wildfire by Cersei.

As part of his plot to put Aegon on the Iron Throne, Varys murders Grand Maester Pycelle and Ser Kevan Lannister, Lord Regent and Protector of the Realm, to keep the realm destabilized following the fall of Queen Regent Cersei Lannister from power.

How does varys kill Kevan?

In "A Dance with Dragons," Varys lures Kevan Lannister to Maester Pycelle's chambers where he explains he has already killed Pycelle and can't have him or Kevan undo all of the bad things that Cersei is doing in King's Landing. He then commands his little birds to finish Kevan off.
