One of the most feared NFL quarterbacks, Matthew Stafford, was born on February 7, 1998, to his parents, John and Margaret Stafford.

Although born in Tampa, Florida, Matthew and his family stayed for some years in Georgia during his early childhood before settling down in Dallas, Texas.

He attended Highland Park High School in Dallas, where he played football and baseball with the future MLB star Clayton Kershaw. However, his entire focus shifted to football at the end of high school as he kept improving for good.

Eventually, Matthew graduated high school as one of the best quarterbacks in the country in 2006.

After enrolling in the University of Georgia in 2006, Stafford became the first true freshman quarterback for the Bulldogs for the first time after Quincey Carter in 1998.

His entire college season with the Bulldogs was a massive success. He received several honors, including First-team All-American and Second-team All-SEC, for his incredible performance in the 2008 season.

Proving the initial predictions correct, Matthew got into the NFL as the 2009 NFL draft’s 1st overall pick. Following his selection, he became the first rookie quarterback to start in the first week since Greg Landry in 1968.
