Does Obadiah Stane Die?

For those of you who still haven't got around to watching a film that came out nearly ten years ago, Obadiah Stane is Tony Stark's father's old business partner and Tony's mentor-turned-enemy, who later became the Iron Monger. He was seemingly killed at the end of the film when he fell into an exploding arc reactor.

According to Jeff Bridges, Obadiah Stane was initially scripted to survive at the end of Iron Man, with the Iron Monger armor being empty upon being opened. However, it was later decided to have Stane killed off. Loyd Catlett and Vince Deadrick Jr. were stunt doubles for Jeff Bridges in the role of Iron Monger.
