Does Pes Planus Go Away

The condition is referred to as pes planus, or fallen arches. It’s normal in infants and usually disappears between ages 2 and 3 years old as the ligaments and tendons in the foot and leg tighten. Having flat feet as a child is rarely serious, but it can last through adulthood.

Can you correct being flat footed?

Sometimes physical therapy can be used to correct flat feet if they’re the result of overuse injuries or poor form or technique. Usually, surgery isn’t needed for flat feet unless they’re caused a bone deformity or a tendon tear or rupture.

Is pes planus normal?

Pes planus is a relatively common foot deformity that refers to the loss of the medial longitudinal arch of the foot, resulting in this region of the foot coming closer to the ground or making contact with the contacting the ground.
